CHICAGO, Feb. 11, 2022 – JLL (NYSE: JLL) has been recognized by the global environmental non-profit CDP for taking effective action to manage impacts through its supply chains and help tackle climate change.

CDP has awarded JLL an ‘A’ Supplier Engagement Rating (SER) on its 2021 CDP Supplier Engagement Leaderboard. This is the first time JLL has achieved an ‘A’ SER. Companies with the best SER are celebrated as Supplier Engagement Leaders. In 2021, this represented just the top 8% of companies who disclosed to the full climate questionnaire.

“Sustainable businesses need sustainable supply chains. JLL is proud to have been recognized by CDP for our work engaging with our suppliers to tackle climate change,” said Richard Batten, JLL’s Chief Sustainability Officer.

Juud Tempelman, JLL’s Chief Procurement Officer, said, “Sustainable procurement is at the heart of our global sustainability program. Being recognized on the Supplier Engagement Leaderboard by CDP validates our ongoing efforts to align what we do and how we service our customers with our unswerving focus on sustainability.

“Real estate is a big contributor to carbon emissions and needs to be a big part of the solution. We demonstrate our commitment to and leadership in sustainable procurement by working collaboratively with our supply chain partners and customers each day to deliver against our sustainability goals at the scale and pace required for us to reach net-zero by 2040.”

Sonya Bhonsle, Global Head of Value Chains & Regional Director Corporations, CDP, said, “Our data shows that companies currently have blinkers on when it comes to assessing their indirect impacts and engaging with suppliers to reduce them. Companies must act urgently to cascade action and manage environmental impacts throughout their supply chains to scale the level of action to secure a 1.5°C future. As a Supplier Engagement Leader, JLL is a trailblazer driving the transition towards a sustainable net-zero future.”

Note to Editors

The CDP SER provides a rating for how effectively companies are engaging their suppliers on climate change. CDP assesses performance on supplier engagement using a company’s response to selected questions on governance, targets, scope 3 emissions, and value chain engagement in the CDP climate change questionnaire. The SER Introduction and SER methodology 2021 is available on CDP’s guidance page for more information. The full list of companies that achieved a place on the leaderboard this year will be available on CDP’s website from 05:01 GMT on February 10, 2022, at:
